An integral part of UVA\'s School of Data Science from its early days, I specialize in bridging the gap between students and the data science industry, expanding career opportunities through a network of alumni, employers, and professionals. My work includes orchestrating networking events in major cities like SF, Seattle, and NYC, facilitating vital industry connections. My career is marked by a penchant for shaping and nurturing initiatives from their inception. This includes co-creating platforms like LynchVegas, the Charlottesville Data Science Meetup, and Oenoverse, as well as playing a key role in launching the BlackTIDES community, and Charlottesville\'s Open Data Advisory Group. Clearly, I enjoy bringing structure and growth to emerging ideas and communities. Alongside my career, I\'ve cultivated a passion for wine. I\'m currently studying for my WSET Level 3, am building something called \"Oenoverse\" with friends, and am making wine with my buddy Lance Lemon. Additionally, I was named to the \"VinePair 50\" list in 2023, was dubbed \"The Virginia Wine Hype Man,\" and have been featured in 8 national and international media pieces in the last year (including 2 in January of 2024). Catch me pouring and somming at Charleston Food & Wine this year. I\'m always eager to connect over tech, culture, and wine, whether in person or virtually -)
