About Reggie Rodriguez
My name is Reggie Rodriguez, I’m a first-generation Cuban-Mexican American undergraduate student, studying petroleum engineering, pivoting towards a career in Finance with a specialization in Financial Services. I\'m a product of hard work, persistence, dedication, and of those who have placed their faith and belief in me (family, scholarship donors, friends, and mentors).I am a selfless servant who gives back to others, as I am the product of great people who believe in investing in the youth. I have been able to impact first-generation scholars by participating in the Regents Scholars Board, Aggie Collegiates Ready to Explore the World, and First-Year Eats programs. The mentorship impact that organizations had on me at Texas A&M is something that I have always made sure was a priority for me to do the same. Another staple in my life is to be able to provide others with the education and practice of building their own personal wealth. I have traveled back to my hometown of Fresno and beyond, in order to give other individuals the knowledge that I did not have about personal finance early in my life.\"It is better to teach a person how to fish and let them feed themselves for life than to give them fish and allow them to starve when you are not present.\"Coming from a low-income neighborhood I made sure that reaching college had to be a priority for me to one day help myself reach my goals but to also help others. I chose petroleum engineering because of the financial impact that the energy industry has on the world. With this interest in Finance, I decided to pursue my MS of Finance, this will enable me to be at the head financial decisions for the energy industry and beyond. My goal is to look back and realize that I went from only doing transactions with cash and never building wealth to leading mergers and acquisitions, analyzing the assets of a firm, and being a part of IPO\'s for all of the major corporations for years to come.
