About Reese Laushot
I am a second-year at the University of Central Florida pursuing a B.S. in Physics on the Astronomy track. My goal is to explore the origins of the universe and the life that resides within it, and that curiosity shapes the way I approach my education and research. I have several years of experience in STEM outreach, student leadership, and community engagement, and I currently serve as both a STEM Ambassador and Secretary of the Astronomy Society. My research background includes work on the recurrent nova T Coronae Borealis with Professor Stephen Eikenberry and participation in the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program with Dr. Philip Metzger. These experiences taught me how to think carefully about scientific questions and how to contribute to collaborative projects with consistency and purpose. I hope to continue growing through opportunities that strengthen my analytical skills and bring me closer to a future in astrophysics.
