About Reena Khatoon
I am a feminist, activist, and development professional with over 15 years of experience leading evidence-based research, program development, and advocacy on issues of gender justice, SRHR, sexual and gender-based violence, LGBTQIA+ rights, and youth leadership. My work focuses on improving access to youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health services, advocating for comprehensive sexuality education, and addressing gender-based violence through survivor-centered interventions and policy reform. I am passionate about empowering young people, particularly women and gender-diverse individuals, to lead social change and hold institutions accountable for their rights. I also focus on building transformative partnerships with grassroots organizations, strengthening networks for policy advocacy, and securing sustainable funding to ensure the long-term impact of gender justice initiatives. My approach is intersectional, inclusive, and collaborative, prioritizing community engagement, knowledge sharing, and coalition building to amplify collective voices and foster lasting social change.I believe visual storytelling is a powerful tool for amplifying marginalized voices, raising awareness, challenging stereotypes, and inspiring action for justice and equality. I aim to continue using visual storytelling to educate, inspire, and build a sense of community, fostering collective action for change.I am exploring the intersection of gender justice, SRHR, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI). As AI advances, I see great potential to integrate gender-sensitive technologies into advocacy and policy to address gender-based disparities.
