About Reed Perry

I help turn conservation and public land priorities into funded, enacted federal policy. As Director of Federal Relations at Trust for Public Land and a J.D. candidate at Catholic University of America, I work with Congress, federal agencies, and diverse coalitions to advance legislation and secure appropriations that deliver new parks, trails, and land protection. Previously, I led major state and federal initiatives at Chesapeake Conservancy and served as a legislative aide in the U.S. Senate. In addition to policy work, I am building real estate expertise by working with TPL attorneys and helping to draft contracts and perform title review and due diligence for TPL land transactions.

   I work as a \"conservationist in Washington, D.C.\", lobbying Congress and the Executive Branch on behalf of TPL project leads around the country and working to advance federal policies and funding to support our mission. Together with our community partners, Trust for Public Land works to protect land for people and advance incredibly impactful projects like parks, trails, community schoolyards, and historical and cultural site protection. I\'m currently working on policy and funding efforts to help tribes reacquire land, to support active transportation and trails projects around the country, and to help protect and steward Black historic and cultural sites.
