About Reece Kosaki

I am currently a fourth year aerospace engineering student at Cal Poly Pomona, passionate about the aeronautics and astronautics industries. I am actively seeking opportunities to learn and grow.I am currently the analysis team lead for the Modular Autonomous Recovery Capsule (CE-MARC) Project. Modular Autonomous Recovery Capsule is a versatile payload recovery system designed to integrate seamlessly with any 4-inch diameter rocket, capable of autonomously guiding itself to a designated landing zone using a winch-controlled parafoil. As the lead for the analysis, I conducted Solidworks CFD simulations to determine the maximum allowable payload mass that would still meet our targeted descent rate. I ran these simulations based on the parafoil my team and I designed based on existing research.I am also a propulsion engineer for Cal Poly Pomona\'s Liquid Rocket Lab, specifically focused on the Keraunos Engine. This is CPP’s first ever regeneratively cooled liquid rocket engine. I was a part of the thrust chamber team, focusing extensively on heat transfer and pressure analysis to verify that it would survive under harsh operating conditions. Using Excel and MATLAB Simscape, I modeled these loads to analyze the coolant channel performance to ensure structural integrity was maintained.I also served as the Secretary for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics for the 20••••24 school year. In this postion, I was responsible for maintaining organized records of all club meetings and events as well as keeping members informed and by sending out announcements. I also ensured documentation of presentations, including those from guest speakers across the aerospace industry.
