ABOUT REECE GARRARD

Graduate from the University of Warwick, attained a 1st class Masters degree in Manufacturing & Mechanical Engineering with Business Management. I then joined Rolls-Royce plc on their Operations Management graduate scheme. A two and a half year scheme where I rotated through different functions and locations of the company in in order to gain key experiences in: material & resource planning, purchasing, manufacturing engineering & improvement. During this time I was based in Germany, for 6 months, were I had to develop new methods of achieving my goals and ways to influence; being far from a fluent German speaker. This was critical as I was directly accountable for the implementation of the equivalent of Toyota\'s Production System across a site of employees. The final year of the scheme involved working as a Production Leader at an aerospace manufacturing facility in the UK. I was responsible for the operational team producing one of the most complex and technically demanding products Rolls-Royce have in production. After scheme completion, I started working in Derby, in the only facility in the UK which Rolls-Royce plc assemble, test & despatch OE large civil engines into the market. During my almost 5 years in this facility, I held a number of roles. These were directly supporting production as a Production Leader and then subsequently moving into Planning & Control (P&C). During my time in P&C, I managed directly or through my team all inbound materials, production planning, load & capacity planning, business priority conflict, New Product Introduction (NPI), supply chain projects & final delivery of product.Following Rolls-Royce, I joined Crown Packaging as a Logistics/Supply Chain Manager. This was three months prior to Brexit go-live and was also as the site was approaching it\'s highest year of production in its 45 year history. At Crown I am responsible for all aspects of Supply Chain for both the beverage can & food can manufacture & subsequent servicing of customer demand. My and my team\'s responsibilities includes management of all material purchasing & supplier management, production planning, customer management, distribution, export/import regulation adherence & final order fulfilment. At max production, we produce 10 million cans each day which gave me what I was looking for after my time in Rolls-Royce; which was to move into an FMCG environment. I manage a multi-million budget each year with activities across a range of facilities & suppliers, necessary to support our UK & EU customer base across the different product sectors.
