ABOUT REBEKAH RUNYAN

Rebekah is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of K12 Accounting. Rebekah is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of New Mexico and holds both a Bachelor and a Master of Accountancy degree from New Mexico State University. Rebekah currently holds a Level II New Mexico School Business Official License.Rebekah has been working in the accounting field since 2004 and has over a decade of experience working with New Mexico schools in the capacity of providing Business Manager and external independent auditing services. Rebekah has served as the contracted Director of Business and Finance for a school district business office with a budget of approximately ninety million dollars. In addition to her experience with New Mexico schools, she has a variety of experience in different areas of accounting including governmental, forensic, higher education, not-for-profits (including foundations) and public accounting. Rebekah recently identified fraud at a charter school where the former business manager was stealing money from the school over a three-year period.Rebekah’s expertise includes governmental financial statement preparation, audit readiness and prep work, budget preparation and monitoring, review and implementation of internal controls, analytical analysis of financial records, general ledger maintenance and clean-up, local and federal grant management and compliance, corrective action plans and plan execution for entities with audit findings, and governing board financial reporting.
