This role sits in the newly-formed Data Group which brings together data collection, data processing, and data outputs into a centralised function in the department, providing rich data sets which can inform policy and decision-making. Education Data Division (EDD), sits within Data Group, and is a multi-disciplinary division of c. 100 people that leads on developing and providing the evidence base, data sets and tools that underpin the department’s key business, including funding and accountability. As head of that division I oversee a number of the departments largest data collections including school census, the development, production and publication of School Performance Tables as well as development of longitudinal matched data sets.
