ABOUT REBECCA WHYTE

Creative and versatile filmmaker with over 20 years of experience crafting critically acclaimed documentaries and flagship series for major networks. My credits range from landmark royal documentaries: The Queen and Us, BBC1, Elizabeth & Philip: Love and Duty, BBC1 and Philip: Prince, Husband, Father ITV1 to fast turn around social history films for BBC4: Bouffants, Beehives and Bobs: The Hairstyles that Shaped Britain, Eyes Down for the History of Bingo and 1960: The Year of the North to some of the highest rating popular factual brands on television like The Great British Bake Off, Countryfile and The Antiques Roadshow. I’ve worked with a wide range of high profile presenters including Sir Tony Robinson, Kirsty Young and Lucy Worsley and conducted interviews with a diverse array of people from academics and politicians to pop stars. I\'ve been freelance since 2018, prior to this, I was a staff Producer/Director at BBC Bristol and earlier in my career, I honed my production skills as a Production Manager in unscripted, drama, and animation in the Midlands.Regardless of the subject matter, timeframe, or budget constraints, I approach every project with the same level of dedication, ensuring high-quality results.TESTIMONIALS:I was really impressed with Rebecca\'s passion and commitment to the project. She had real integrity in her vision for the film and was a pleasure to work with. Priya Singh, Commissioner, Philip: Prince, Husband, Father ITVRebecca was a joy to work with. She completely understands what\'s needed to craft a film and it doesn\'t matter what obstacles are put in her way, she comes up with the goods. She\'s incredibly well organised - a team player who knows how to plan a shoot, direct beautiful sequences, telling important stories in engaging and meaningful ways.Lucie Kon, Executive Producer, Elizabeth & Philip: Love and Duty, BBC1Rebecca is without doubt one of the best Producers I\'ve ever worked with. Insightful, smart and funny, her programmes are well structured with developing narratives and emotional impact. Kate Shiers, Series Producer, The Queen & Us, BBC1Rebecca is a versatile, intelligent director with a witty eye; a good storyteller who brings real commitment to the projects she works on. There is always a warmth and humour to her programme making. She is flexible and collaborative editorially and a big team player - trusted and well-liked by those who work to her. Her special strength is a very strong feel for popular culture and contemporary taste. MICHAEL POOLE, Executive Producer, Arts, BBC Bristol
