About Rebecca Timmons
I am a Veterinarian and Research Scientist with extensive experience in clinical practice, research, and leadership roles. I am passionate about providing high-quality care to animals, advancing veterinary science through innovative research, and mentoring future professionals in the field. Most recently, I was the Research Director for Volition Veterinary. I oversaw their veterinary research and development department by managing their research collaborations and contracts, clinical studies, R&D budget, laboratory projects and team, experiment designs, aiding in data analysis, and publications as well as presenting on behalf of the company. I\'m also a General Practice Relief Veterinarian that provides relief veterinary services in North Carolina. I see dogs, cats and exotic species. I enjoy general medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, cytology, palliative medicine/hospice care, and client education. I pride myself in making sure that both the primary veterinarian and client understand the medical care received during the appointment and possible next steps of follow up care. I also make sure to provide continuity of care based on the primary veterinarians case management as well. Areas I service include Greensboro, Asheboro, Winston-Salem, Charlotte, Mount Airy, Raleigh, Durham and Cary areas. During veterinary school I was actively involved as class Vice President, a DVM Ambassador, a ROLE Orientation Leader, Bridge Program Liaison, and volunteering in Pet Hospice. During my undergraduate and veterinary schooling I also managed a research laboratory that performed various clinical studies primarily on chronic diseases in cats. I also have a passion for learning new things. I previously taught myself japanese so I could study abroad in Japan. I am also self taught in banjo, guitar, ukulele and piano.I also write in my free time and am the author of a young adult murder mystery series:\"The Story of Jess.and Her Dead Uncle\'s Undead Girlfriend\"\"The Story of Jess.and the Soldier of the Living Dead (Vol. 2)\"*Research assay experience: stem cell culture/growth, stem cell therapy, ELISA assays, antioxidant assays, spectrophotometry, PCR, Real-Time PCR, flow cytometry, lymphocytic proliferation assays, bacterial culture and plasmid modification, nanoengineering, inorganic chemistry based assay development, acid-base chemistry assays, chromatography based assays, assay development and modification, assay optimization, laboratory consulting.
