The Director of Operations, by applying leadership and best practice managerial approaches, creates a supportive, open, participatory, and results-oriented working environment for the CGVS. This in return supports its network of faculty, staff, students, and alumni, as well as collaborating partners and supporters, to ultimately deliver on the mission and strategic goals of the Center- Develop and lead the implementation of new operational processes and infrastructure needed for the success of a young academic center and ensure compliance with the standards for JHU academic centers- Work closely with the Center Co-Directors to identify strategic opportunities, collaborations, and activities in support of the Dean’s strategic plan and in line with the strategic emphasis on advocacy- Work closely with the Center Co-Directors to develop organizational and project budgets and financial planning for long term sustainability and growth- Work closely with Grants & Contracts Analyst to develop and monitor the Center’s budget and monitor spending- Lead the Center’s project management process- Coordinate the Center’s talent management and HR processes with Departmental and Central HR- Serve as a technical resource for staff to elevate, advance, and strengthen system and administrative knowledge- Implement strategic decisions in the Administration of the Center’s activities- Lead Internal Communication activities, including writing twice monthly update letter, planning and leading twice monthly staff meetings and weekly leadership team meetings- Coordinate regular engagement with the Center core and affiliated Faculty Affiliates.
