ABOUT REBECCA YOUNG

My name is Rebecca Young, and I am currently a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) student at Northwestern University\'s Department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences. I hold a degree in Communication from Chapman University, with a minor in Psychology, and graduated Magna Cum Laude. After transitioning into the field of physical therapy, I bring a diverse background, including experience in sales and marketing, as well as years of teaching yoga. In physical therapy, I have accumulated three years of experience as a PT aide in an orthopedic setting and have completed clinical rotations in outpatient orthopedics, outpatient neurology, and a skilled nursing facility with a focus on neurological rehabilitation. My passion lies in working with the neurological population, and I plan to pursue a career as a neurological physical therapist after graduating in April 2025. I am an active member of Northwestern\'s Neurological and Manual Therapy special interest groups and currently volunteer with the Adaptive Sports program at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. My goal is to empower patients to believe in their abilities and potential, regardless of their diagnosis, and to help them regain independence and confidence in their physical function.
