About Rebecca Day

While I pride myself on a few things when it comes to business including professionalism, communication, and work ethic, I am most proud of my grit and endurance. The creative arts is a marathon, not a sprint. My stubborn ambition is what keeps me going when the cards seem stacked against me.” -Canvas Rebel InterviewI have known what I wanted to do my whole life, be a story-teller. And I’ve always told stories—stories that inspire, uplift, and inform, through writing and music. I’m honored to be part of a rare group of individuals who don’t work to live, but live to work, because my work is my life’s purpose.Over the years, I’ve enjoyed writing for a number of publications, including Jacksonville Magazine, The Epoch Times, Foundation for Economic Education, and American Essence. I can write about almost anything, and the overarching topics include the arts, from music history to contemporary artist profiles, culture, both enduring civilizations and modern trends, and business, with a specialization (and a ton of personal experience) in entrepreneurship. As I’ve worked with various publications, I’ve sharpened my skills in creative writing, editing, story-telling, and the artist interview process (I love gaining insight into different perspectives).Publications often choose to continue working with me on a long term basis after publishing my initial work due to my attention to detail, respect for deadlines, and keen eye for research. I pride myself on my professionalism as a writer who takes initiative and is easy to work with. Other skills I’ve utilized over the years, especially when working with marketing agencies, include providing marketing collateral, building websites, writing press releases, managing social media, project management, and editing copy. In 2019, I released my debut novel, a small-town crime mystery read, Derelict. I also run my Substack, Classically Cultured, where I release essays, articles, and original music. For over a decade, I’ve also enjoyed being an independent musician, and have had the opportunity to work with amazing companies over the years, such as Purina, Hewlett Packard and Intel, and King & Prince Resort, as a live performer. Universal Music Group and its partners have used music by my band, The Crazy Daysies, for various compilation releases.I’ve built a life I don’t need a vacation from. I will always work hard to keep it that way.Let’s connect and work together.
