Manages large volume of immigration cases for the constituents of Connecticut, including cases pertaining to deportation, visas, humanitarian parole, passports, adjustment of status, work authorizations, naturalization, etc.• Serves as liaison between constituents and government agencies to resolve constituent issues• Establishes and maintains relationships with federal agencies including but not limited to: Department of State, USCIS, CBP, ICE, USRAP, and others as appropriate• Collaborates with colleagues in the Senator’s Washington, D.C. office as well as across the Connecticut delegation and the United States Senate to support casework goals/outcomes• Determines appropriate actions depending on the needs of each case and executes as appropriate. Actions may include but are not limited to advocating for expeditious processing when warranted, seeking redress for immigrants facing deportation, facilitating movement on constituent cases experiencing a backlog, drafting correspondence and letters on the Senator’s behalf, assisting constituents in repatriating to the U.S.• Interviews, trains, supervises, and maintains consistent communication with interns both in person and during remote work to support the casework, outreach and staff assistant teams in the State office
