ABOUT REBECCA CARLSON
My career journey has been anything but conventional. Rather than following a linear path, I have embraced multiple successful careers and am now pursuing my third. From Human Resources to Residential Real Estate, and now as a Career Advisor in Higher Education, I\'ve had the privilege of exploring diverse industries and professions. Some might see me as a risk-taker—especially when I took a sabbatical during the height of my real estate career to pursue a master\'s degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Yet, through each decision, I’ve trusted my instincts, followed my passions, and recognized the unique value each role has brought to my life. These experiences have shaped my skills, knowledge, and personal growth, ultimately leading me to my current position as Career and Industry Program Manager at the University of Washington. My varied background uniquely equips me to thrive in this role and make a meaningful impact. At the heart of my career is a deep passion for advising, consulting, and helping individuals achieve their career aspirations. I thrive on working with students, particularly in helping them navigate their professional journeys and reach their full potential. Guiding students to discover their career paths, overcome challenges, and build the confidence to pursue their goals is incredibly rewarding to me. My commitment to this work is driven by my desire to make a positive impact on their futures and to support the next generation of leaders in achieving their dreams. When I’m not immersed in career conversations, I enjoy international travel, hiking, and taking walks along Alki Beach in West Seattle with my husband and our German Shorthaired Pointer, Dakota.
