ABOUT REBECCA CARDEN

After an almost 18-year career as a corporate Art Director leading a cross-functional team of internal and external employees, I decided to pursue a long-held dream of getting a Masters in Anthrozoology. I have always been fascinated by the somewhat complicated, often beautiful, interwoven relationship between human and nonhuman animals. Throughout my life, animals and the natural world have been the inspiration for my artwork and illustration. In 2016, I became a licensed NYS wildlife rehabilitator to help the nonhuman animals in New York State. This has offered me a platform to teach others about the vital place that nonhumans have in the world and instill the need to respect and value all animals, even the ones that are not traditionally considered “beautiful.” With a new focus on wild animals and the law, I hope to one day work to improve protections for animals around the world by helping to evolve public policy, the law, education, and our general understanding of nonhuman animals. I am driven by a passion for helping human and nonhuman animals and especially to improve protections for nonhuman animals around the world. I hope to leverage the skills I developed while working in corporate America to make a difference for human and nonhuman animals alike while working for a company or organization which values the environment, nature, humans, and nonhumans. I have always thrived when presented with new challenges and can find innovative and creative ways to build relationships between disparate parties to open new paths to understanding.I am actively looking for opportunities to use my skills to help improve the world for humans, nonhumans, and the environment and would love to connect with like-minded individuals, feel free to connect or message me via LinkedIn.
