About Rebecca Cable-Dassel
Becca started as a Barista in 2014, and currently serves as the Senior Sustainability Strategy Manager for International Retail Stores and the Global Channel Development Business Unit. In this role Becca is responsible for managing global partnerships annual emissions measurement process, orchestrating multi-year sustainability and emissions reduction strategies and human rights strategy. Becca brings passion, partnership management, and technical expertise to this space. Her goal is to accelerate and scale sustainability solutions across the entire food and beverage industry. Becca has had several roles at Starbucks. Prior to her current role, she was the new product introduction manager (commercialization manager) for paper, plastics, and sustainable packaging. She also led the mandate response team where she was responsible for responding to sustainable packaging regulations that impacted retail stores. With her x-functional team, Becca also launched promotional packaging like the Holiday paper and plastic suite, color changing cups, ADA straw, strawless lids, and many more. In addition to her day job, Becca had the honor of serving as the co-director of events for an internal Starbucks employee group, Partners for Sustainability. Becca and her co-director, Kerry Feargrieve, hosted 45 events over 2 years attend by over 10k Starbucks employees. Hallmark events featured former VP Al Gore, former Co-Chair for the White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council Peggy Shepard, President of Earthjustice Abigail Dillen, Co-editor of All We Can Save Dr. Katharine Wilkinson, and CEO of Bloc Power and former White House Champion of Change Donnel Baird.Becca graduated from Seattle University with a B.A. in International Studies and the Harvard Extension School with a Masters in the field of Sustainability. When she is not at work, Becca spends her time outdoors in the great PNW.
