Past President of Optimist International, one of the world’s largest volunteer service organizations comprised of over 2,500 local clubs whose members are unified by a mission to provide hope and positive vision to “Bring Out the Best” in youth, our communities and ourselves. Elected in 2015 to serve on the Optimist International Board of Directors, and as President-Elect in 2017 to serve as President in the 2018-19 Centennial year, led a team of Governors, Vice Presidents and members to improve the organization’s global impact through a broad range of projects including academics / scholarships, youth leadership development, sports and safety programs, childhood health and wellness. As Past President, presided over the Board of Directors in 2019-20, and continued from 2020 to present as focal point for collaborative service initiatives with peer civic organizations (Kiwanis, Lions, Rotary), as well as 2021-22 Chair for Junior Optimist International with over 500 clubs comprised of high school and younger students across the US, Canada, Caribbean and other countries. In each of these roles, responsibilities include close partnership with all levels of volunteer leadership, as well as the Optimist professional staff and Optimist International Foundations.
