I own Mil-Spec Manufacturing LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned machine shop based in Salisbury, NC. We support the Defense, Aerospace, Firearms, and Racing industries with precision machining, and I stay closely connected to the realities of the shop floor and what it takes to run a manufacturing business.In 2023, I partnered with Practical Machinist to create the video series Becoming a Practical Machinist. The series was built for machinists and shop owners who want to start or grow a shop—covering real-world lessons, hard-earned experience, and the unfiltered side of manufacturing entrepreneurship. The series reached a wide audience and became one of Practical Machinist’s most successful video initiatives.Education is also a major focus of my work. After my own CNC education experience, I became committed to working with schools to better connect educators and students to free, industry-relevant resources, and to help ensure machining and manufacturing curricula stay current with today’s technology and shop needs.I believe in collaboration over competition. Strong manufacturing communities are built when shops work together, share knowledge, and support one another.Today, I serve as Community Director at Toolpath, where I focus on connecting manufacturers, technology, and people.
