Business development, strategy, industry / government relations. Leading a rapidly growing sales and business development team to identify and analyse new business opportunities and create and implement MBDA’s UK export strategy. Currently responsible for driving forwards c£20Bn of campaigns across 35 nations. Working with the Ministry of Defence and other industry partners to pursue campaigns and align activities with national and company objectives. Key achievements include: • Acting as the primary customer focal point for complex weapons export campaigns, including establishing and chairing two new joint industry and government boards to identify and pursue export opportunities. This has led to c£500M of new campaigns in the past year. • Agreeing and implementing a mechanism with HM Treasury to reinvest commercial export levies into new export programmes, driving a “virtuous circle” of UK development and manufacturing. • Working with commercial, legal and export stakeholders across government and industry to develop a new government-to-government export framework agreement, improving the UK’s ability to compete internationally for key contracts. • Prioritising Export Business Development activity onto key strategic accounts through horizon scanning, strategic analysis and a bespoke Probability of Win tool developed by my team, reducing wasted effort and improving the conversion rate between prospecting and business winning.

I am a senior defence leader with experience in business development, general management and commercial strategy, with a successful career covering industry, the military and the civil service. I have coordinated the creation and implementation of a strategic business plan for a multi-billion pound company, delivered three major transformation programmes and led teams of over 100 people to deliver operational outputs. I am at my best when tackling complex, strategic problems and aligning diverse stakeholder requirements to deliver effective solutions.
