ABOUT REBECCA KENNEDY
As a partner and an experienced restructuring and insolvency lawyer, I work with clients in receiverships, security enforcement, debt collection, creditors\' rights, debtor protection and forbearance agreements. I represent both debtors and creditors, in regional, national and cross-border insolvencies. My practice extends across a range of industries, including cannabis, telecommunications, consumer products, real estate, oil and gas, renewable energy and private equity. I’m dedicated to strategically solving difficult legal challenges for my clients, and am passionate about mentoring up-and-coming restructuring and insolvency lawyers. Among my more notable mandates are serving as counsel to FTI Consulting Canada regarding cross-border restructuring for Just Energy Group, counsel to JTI-Macdonald Corp, one of the largest tobacco companies in Canada, in its proceedings under the CCAA with a goal to achieve a global resolution exceeding $500 billion in claims, and counsel on various insolvency matters in the cannabis industry, including significant roles in Fire & Flower Holdings Corp, Phoena Holdings Inc, The Flowr Company and AgMedica Biosciences Inc.
