ABOUT REBECCA HATKOFF

We deserve humanizing, love-soaked, antiracist, and enriching classrooms, schools, and communities. And the future we deserve can only be built together. I seek and make opportunities to co-create culturally responsive and generative practices and systems by partnering intentionally, naming the thing, thinking collectively, joyfully disrupting subtractive approaches, and imagining new possibilities.My work bridges research and practice in education as well as its intersections with housing, culture, business, and politics. I’ve worked deliberately at the intersection of TK–12 and higher education, developing informed, nuanced understandings of the challenges—and especially the opportunities— across the systems. An unconventional thinker, strategist, researcher, and teacher/professor, I help others co-design and sustain generative partnerships, practices, and fiscally creative and logistically feasible solutions that center students, teachers, and communities-especially those most marginalized and historically underserved.A California apologist born and shaped in Los Angeles, I\'m deeply versed in the geography, politics, culture, and realities of my home city & state.
