ABOUT REBECCA CRALL

Rebecca (Becca) was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She attended Westchester High School in Los Angeles and graduated in 2005 California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Animal Science and a concentration in Policy. At Cal Poly, Becca’s interest and background in Agriculture was cultivated. Seeing the similarities between urban small businesses (her father is a small business owner) and the small Ag Operations/businesses along with the importance of sustainability, her interest in the policies governing them grew. She started in the Legislative/Political process when she had an internship with a CA State Senator in the summer of 2004. After graduation, Becca worked on a State Assembly (similar to Hawaii’s State House) Campaign and then served as a Field Deputy to a State Assemblymember and a State Senator. In both positions she worked on education, health and environmental/agricultural issues, amongst many other topics, and also handled constituent casework services. Fun Fact: In California each Senate district serves close to 1 million people. Becca also has a long history of volunteering in many different community programs as well as serving on both community and of non-profit boards. She has been a lifeguard, swim instructor, a horse trainer and equestrienne, a surfer and a blue-ribbon baker for the Los Angeles County Fair. Becca moved to the Island of Oahu in September of 2012 to join her long term boyfriend, now husband, who is a farrier (horse shoer), and to start the next chapter of her professional life while also continuing to advocate for the issues she believes in.
