ABOUT REBECCA COCHRANE
I’m a Toronto-based corporate lawyer focused on venture capital, private equity, M&A, and corporate finance. I act for funds, founders, underwriters and companies at all stages of the business lifecycle – from early-stage financings through to exits, IPOs, and transformative transactions.I work with: VC, PE and other private funds looking to structure vehicles, deploy capital, and exit investments efficiently; Owner-operators seeking to sell their business in a way that maximizes value and minimizes risk; and Special committees and boards navigating complex transactions while meeting fiduciary and regulatory obligations.I offer pragmatic advice rooted in each client’s unique business needs. I enjoy working with clients who want to innovate and creatively solve problems.I am also an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School teaching Securities Regulation, and am a member of the board of directors of ComKids, a charity that works to bridge technology gaps for youth in under-serviced communities. I have repeatedly been named by Best Lawyers as a “One to Watch” in the category of Mergers & Acquisitions.
