About Rebecca Chamberlain
REBECCA CHAMBERLAIN received her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and has worked widely across disciplines, from painting and performance to fashion design. Her paintings and drawings, which consider the boundaries of public and private spaces and the psychological and physical impact of architecture, have been exhibited at Dodge Gallery, 303 Gallery, and Knoedler Project Space in New York; the Judi Rotenberg gallery in Boston; and Champion Fine Art in Los Angeles, among other venues. She is the recipient of a Joan Mitchell Foundation grant; a New York Foundation for the Arts painting fellowship; a Johns Hopkins University Travel Fellowship; and recently completed a three-month residency at the Willem Arntsz Hoeve in the Netherlands. Chamberlain’s work has been reviewed by Artforum, The New York Times, Art in America, Artinfo.com, and Flash Art, among other publications. Her work has been acquired by the Currier Museum of Art, in Manchester, New Hampshire, and can be found in the collection of Société Bic, Torys LLC, Fidelity Investments as well as numerous private collections. Working across disciplines, Chamberlain is also a fashion designer, collaborating on an award-winning line for luxury knitwear brand M.Patmos, a new casual line for Rebecca Taylor and most recently on a unisex season for Electric Feathers. An accomplished singer, she has performed and recorded with a number of performance ensembles including musical group Maxi Geil! & PlayColt. Raised near Philadelphia, Chamberlain lives and works between Brooklyn and upstate, New York.
