ABOUT REBECCA CARLING
A technology leader with a passion for driving transformation, innovation & simplification across diverse organizations. Over the past two decades, I have had the privilege of performing various functions in the areas of IT support, financial & operational planning, process, program and vendor management. With strong collaboration, documentation, organization & leadership skills, I effectively communicate with others to achieve common goals and objectives. I started my career at Aetna as an intern and was officially hired as a process engineer, working with a team to define customer oriented processes around IT service management. We implemented one of the first ITSM products that managed change and incident management, Peregrine ServiceCenter. From there, I took dome leadership and project management courses and became a team leader, working with colleagues, vendors and financial planning for some major monitoring implementations supporting the high availability and performance of all business applications across Aetna’s landscape. Soon after I was hired as a director with a team of business analysts, engineers and program managers. After vetting out new IT Service Management tools, we ultimately decided to move forward with ServiceNow. I introduced the Agile methodology to my team and colleagues and I led the deployment of ServiceNow offering a new way to handle incident, change, request, problem and knowledge management. My next move was a chief of staff supporting an organization of 80+ colleagues in planning, program management, vendor support and overall support. However, my passion to manage and support, mentor and coach a team propelled me to my next role of Director of Monitoring and Observability after a merger deal with CVS. In this space, I managed over 35 products supporting all lines of business, i.e, retail, healthcare, digital, cloud services. There was a need to rationalize and simplify the tooling landscape to better support overall observability across the enterprise and landed on AppDynamics as our nextgen support system. In this position, I also supported AIOps and managed automation initiatives while juggling the deployment of a new tool, keeping the lights on and supporting the 25+ team I managed. In my personal life, I enjoy traveling with my husband and three children. We are big Disney fans and love spending time at the happiest place on earth both on land and sea! I also enjoy attending my children’s sporting events. My son plays baseball and football and my daughter plays softball, basketball and soccer.
