ABOUT REBECA PEREIRA

Hi! I\'m Rebeca Pereira, a journalism student embarking on a new academic journey to obtain my masters at Northeastern University. Thanks for visiting my profile! Some highlights: In May, I graduated from UMass Amherst with dual degrees in Journalism and Portuguese. Through my graduate program in Media Innovation and Data Communication at NU, I am striving to meld my interest in multilingual storytelling, my aptitude for audio reporting, and some newfound skills in data visualization. I\'m fluent in Adobe Audition, Arc Publishing, and AP Style, and through my digital production work at the Boston Globe I have grown familiar with audience engagement software including Chartbeat, Urban Airship, MailChimp, and Social Flow. During my time at UMass Amherst, I was honored to received a Student Broadcaster Scholarship from the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association and, more recently, a Journalism Education Foundation of New England scholarship from the New England Newspaper & Press Association.I welcome thoughtful questions about my academic and professional experience and am eager to connect with more seasoned journalists.
