About Reavelyn Pray
Leveraging my 5 years of academic research and 6 years of industry experience in assay design and data solutions - in the pursuit of knowledge. My goals include expanding my data and systems engineering background to build resilient, observable/high-fidelity commercial labs and use my hands-on molecular assay design experience in that pursuit. Data is a tangle of information to be sorted and organized. The way we sort and organize that information can change its story. I want to be able to help effectively tell stories that speak truth to the data and find the answers to improve our knowledge and hopefully in turn the quality of our lives. But honestly, its an innate curiosity to discover that motivates me in every aspect of life.Passionate & experienced researcher. I enjoy learning new things all the time and in my free time have learned taxa, identification and enjoy making accurate field observations of fungi, insecta and plants down to species level. In that endeavour, I have met international entomologists, mycologists, molecular biologists, and other enthusiasts whom I\'ve traded specimens with to add to our respective collections over the years. My favorite part? its free. There\'s a forum for everything these days. Its difficult to hear that \"I get easily fascinated by things\" because my perception is that everything is extremely interesting once you begin to take it apart or breakdown and begin to understand it. Everyday I get to wake up and do science is getting to relive a dream. Thanks to passionate mentors at community college to the scientific community I was able to put a name to my fascination with things and pursue them. I am humbled everyday and learning to navigate it all.Skilled in Bioinformatics, Molecular techniques, Customer Service, Communication, Sales Management, dish-washing, identifying specific plants looking for specific insects, and Microsoft Office. Strong research professional with a background in Biology focused in Genetics, Molecular, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics from Texas A&M Corpus Christi.\"I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.”- Stephen Jay Gould\"You can have a great dataset and come to all the wrong conclusions with it\"- some person(me)
Experience
Data Solutions Architect, Lab Operations - Molecular Diagnostics
Mar 2026 — Present
Bridging the gap between molecular diagnostics and data solutions. Designed the first Unified Data Model to harmonize data from Kepler, LIMS, LabVantage, LOPS, and related operational systems to track sample flow into governed, reusable transformation layers across products. Building domain-specific semantic and analytical data solutions supporting Lab Ops analytics, operational traceability, interoperability, and AI readiness. Partnering with federated data enterprise engineering teams to align Lab Operations data products with enterprise architecture, shared platform standards, and broader governance practices. Translate complex molecular diagnostics and sample workflow processes into scalable data models, dashboards, and decision-support products for Lab Operations and cross-functional stakeholders. Advanced domain governance through improved documentation, lineage, data definitions, and reusable data product design within a regulated laboratory environment. Mentor team members in data literacy, documentation, versioning, and scalable analytical practices, helping raise technical maturity across the Lab Operations domain. Bridge wet-lab science, laboratory operations, and cloud data systems by translating biological and operational workflows into governed data structures that reflect scientific and operational reality.
