ABOUT RUTH CHRISTINE DIMAGMALIW
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working at the intersection of healing, community care, and systems transformation. For more than a decade, my work has centered on supporting youth, families, and adults across diverse communities, including neurodivergent individuals, system-involved youth, and people navigating post-adoption transitions. Much of my work focuses on individuals carrying the layered experiences of intergenerational trauma, migration stories, and cultural identity, particularly adult children of immigrants learning to balance cultural roots with personal growth. My clinical approach is grounded in a systemic and equity-centered lens. I believe meaningful healing happens not only within individuals but also within the relationships, institutions, and communities that shape our lives. This perspective informs how I show up as a therapist, supervisor, trainer, and community collaborator.Beyond my clinical practice, I partner with organizations and community agencies to strengthen equitable and culturally responsive systems of care. My background in community organizing and nonprofit leadership has allowed me to coordinate outreach initiatives, design trainings, mentor emerging therapists, and support organizations in building stronger networks of care. One of my most requested trainings is Navigating Implicit Bias in Clinical Supervision, where I guide supervisors and clinicians in developing reflective supervision practices that address power, culture, and bias within the supervisory relationship. At the heart of my work is a commitment to collective care. I am passionate about creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered with tools that foster both individual and community healing.
