Nucleus is a wealth management platform, focused on delivering better outcomes for clients by closely working with financial advisers to meet their needs. We are committed to transparency and reducing complexity. As part of a restructure, we identified a need to form a new team with a focus on managing and overseeing all Cyber Security and Organisational Resilience activities across the company. The breadth of experience I gained in my previous role in Nucleus, forming teams in all areas of technology, meant I was familiar with the existing processes and controls, and was asked to take on this challenge. My goal is to support the growth of Nucleus\' Assets Under Management by maintaining the trust of our advisers, clients, regulators and investors in our systems and operations. We see this as an opportunity to stand out from our competitors. We seek to reduce the cost, likelihood and impact of unanticipated incidents, without slowing delivery or introducing unnecessary friction. My current responsibilities include: • Managing cyber and resilience risks by focusing on realistic threats, implementing proportionate controls, and monitoring their performance with real data • Formalising Security Operations activities by centralising relevant data, reporting and alerting • Delivering staff training on security and resilience • Delivering regular reports and training to the board • Defining the security and resilience control frameworks for all teams • Management of Nucleus’ Business Continuity and incident management plans • Automating repetitive tasks and controls • Working with teams to understand the impact of disruption, and how to reduce the likelihood • Security and resilience oversight of our Material Outsource partners and other vendors • Working with auditors to identify areas of potential improvement • Enhancing the Identity and Access Management for all our systems • Supporting projects by ensuring Security & Resilience is considered in the design & delivery
