ABOUT RACHEL HENDRIX
As the Executive Director of International Affairs for the University of West Florida (UWF), I lead a team of professionals who are committed to fostering global citizenship and intercultural competency among students, faculty, staff, and the community. I have developed and implemented strategic initiatives, programs, and partnerships that enhance UWF\'s global profile and impact.As Chair of Region VII with NAFSA: Association of International Educators, the world\'s largest non-profit organization dedicated to international education and exchange, and a board member for various organizations including the Florida Association of International Educators, Gulf Coast Citizen Diplomacy Council, Study Florida, the Greater Florida District Export Council, and the US Global Leadership Coalition’s Florida Advisory Committee, I am actively engaged in contributing to advancing international education initiatives. I have received prestigious awards, such as Fulbright Scholar, Rotary Group Study Exchange, and was selected as both a Baden-Württemberg Education Seminar and ICEX Spanish Seminar participant, all of which have enabled me to expand my knowledge and network in Japan, Brazil, Germany, and Spain. I am passionate about teaching, researching, and advocating for intercultural education and diversity. My goal is to empower the next generation of global-ready graduates who can thrive in a multicultural and interconnected world.My educational background includes a B.A. in public relations, an M.A. in strategic communication and leadership, and an Ed.S. in curriculum and instruction, all from the University of West Florida. I am currently completing my Ed.D. focusing on intercultural competency development.
