About Ron Dumas
Renewable Energy Economic Development Professional with a principled and purpose-driven plan to put 400MW of clean energy on the grid and create thousands of good paying union jobs over the next five years. I started my career in 2019 when I was named the Philanthropy Chairman at UNC Asheville’s Student Alumni Association. That role not only taught me what people can accomplish when they coalesce around a unified goal, but what purpose driven work means and how that can be the engine by which we change the world. In 2020, I organized and directed a Student-powered Non profit organization, The Policy Innovative Leaders Of Tomorrow (PILOT) that designed, funded, and created a detailed implementation strategy for policies to address food insecurity across the 7 campuses across the UNC system, Duke University and NC State University. In 2022, interned in Venture Capital and Economic Development at the Buncombe County Chamber of Commerce, graduated from UNC Asheville with an interdisciplinary degree (Economics, Business, and Ethics), and consulted small to mid-sized business at a major accounting firm, Alliantgroup. Then in 2023, determined to break into the Energy Industry, I broke down barriers of inclusion as a Business Developer with Ally Energy. Today I am pursing the calling of my generation, as a Developer at EDP Renewables North America, building utility scale Solar Parks, fighting climate change, and growing the economy of middle America through strategic economic development and tax equity avenues. Over the next 5 years, I am deeply committed to developing Solar projects and Battery Storage systems throughout Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan, powering thousands of homes with clean energy, driving the energy transition, and strategically investing in the economic development of rural communities.
