Current- Genomic aggregate development WGS. Generating and analysing the data to ensure researchers get the most from it- Leading bioinformatics projects and data driven decision making- Collaborating with bioinformatics engineers in the team who enable us to scale up the work into cloud (AWS) systems and productionise the workflows- SME to internal stakeholders, helping others in the organisation understand our data and how it is/can be used. Helping our Product Manager set priorities and timelines for our projects- Line management; 3 direct reports. Guiding the development of my team and reports. Mentoring and coaching where opportunities arise- Script (R) and workflow development (Nextflow and Cromwell) aimed at making efficient use of our data architecture to collect genetic and/or clinical (EHR) data.Past- One of the primary contact persons for research support of a research platform ~200-500 monthly users- Aiding strategy development & priority setting for research support- Part of the team releasing the first set of NHS-GMS data to our research community and various Genomes Project releases before.

Summary:Helping researchers make the most of the clinical and genomic data from the Genomes Project, and NHS-Genomic Medicine Service. All with the goal to ensure that our participants have the best chance on getting a diagnosis for those where our main clinical pipeline does not provide them with answer - when given consent, we help participants help others by making their data available for research.Generally interested in genome-wide regulation of traits steering my career. Experienced in wet-lab experimental setups and highly proficient in R for downstream analyses. Able to work at an independent and effective level, and respond to issues rapidly, but will always prefer and love doing this within a healthy team atmosphere.
