ABOUT RICHARD BETTERIDGE
I’m a healthcare product leader with a career spanning frontline clinical practice, data science, consulting leadership, and now product strategy focused on AI, analytics, and data platforms. My work centres on building intelligent, scalable solutions that help health systems improve population health, operational performance, and patient outcomes.I began my career as a Diagnostic Radiographer, giving me a deep understanding of clinical workflows and the realities of delivering care. Through the NHS Graduate Scheme I moved into health informatics, developing expertise in analytics, population health modelling, information governance, and digital transformation across multiple healthcare organisations.Over the last seven years with Oracle Health & Life Sciences (formerly Cerner), I’ve progressed from Data Scientist to Senior Manager in Product Management. I’ve led multidisciplinary teams, delivered complex population health programmes, contributed to sales and market growth, and developed standardised analytics and content libraries for international markets. Work that naturally evolved into shaping our next generation of data- and AI-driven capabilities.Today, I lead product strategy for Oracle Health Data Intelligence, focusing on advanced analytics, modern data architectures, and emerging AI that support decision-making across large-scale health systems. My work centres on environments where populations, regions, and health authorities rely on connected intelligence to deliver consistent, system-wide improvements in care.
