ABOUT RYAN BATEMAN
I\'m a leader, manager, and technologist with 20 years of experience in software products, with a strong technical background in enterprise web-applications, mobile, and Industrial IoT. Most recently, I worked at HiveMQ, an Industrial AI and messaging infra provider, where I focused on building platform-centric vision and product strategies to drive this forward. I led on building strategy and products that help some of the world\'s largest companies deal with horizon-level data, modelling, and infrastructure challenges, and worked across teams to deliver products such as HiveMQ Pulse, a distributed intelligence platform and semantic layer for our data pipeline platform. I also recently completed a Masters degree in Systems Thinking in Practice - the study of practical measures for addressing complex problems through modelling and investigation of the systems that govern them. My thesis topic was on understanding how measurability affects the perspectives - and so goals - of those within a system (e.g. KPIs in an enterprise organisation or measures of efficacy within the charity sector).
