About Rayvonne Brown

During my senior year in high school; I was unsure about continuing my education in college because my parents didn\'t attend college. Top organizations that shaped me into what I am today is choir, track, and environmental club. Being in choir helped me be more vocal in groups as well as be in tune in with the rest of the group. Through all of my years in school, I always wanted to achieve the honor roll. My senior year, I stepped up to the challenge to receive second honors. In track, my racing events were the 400 and the 800. From running in high school, I learned that it is important to run your own race and not be focused on those in other lanes! Running opened up doors which allowed me to get a scholarship to run at Southwestern Community College. Now, I can happily say that I am the first person in my family to attend college.At Southwestern Community College, I was able to be a student ambassador as well as be awarded \"Male Athlete of the year\" for my track performance and involvement on the track team. After two years at Southwestern, I transferred to Northwest Missouri State University where I am a leader on the track team and involved in residential life. After taking human resource management at Northwest, I learned that it was what I wanted to pursue in the near future.
