ABOUT RAYSSA BRANDAO

Seeking entry-level U.S. job opportunities in the Air Quality/Environmental Engineering/Water Resources field. I have recently graduated from college with a Master’s in Environmental Engineering at Virginia Tech. While studying, I was also a graduate assistant working on air pollutant data analysis applied to different COVID scenarios in the U.S. and in Brazil. I have strong data analytic skills and wish to apply that to a new Environmental Engineer role. As I was leaving school, I felt the need to gain field experience to expand my analytic and stormwater/air permitting skills, so I joined the Site and Infrastructure Team at Virginia Tech. As an Environmental Technician I got certified as Erosion and Sediment Control Program Administrator, and also implemented a new inspection schedule for all new construction sites at the university. Later on, I wanted to gain more training experience in the industry sector so I joined a consultancy company. I learned more on specific federal and state-specific stormwater and air requirements from a variety of industry sectors. My current wish is to expand my permitting skills to new facilities on air, stormwater and/or remediation. My interests were molded as I had job and research experiences. They include but are not limited to: air pollution and water resources calculations/permitting, data analysis (Excel/R skills), and remote sensing (GIS/ERDAS).
