I am a passionate advocate and dedicated leader in the health policy sector, driven by the firm belief that each one of us has the power to effect meaningful change. Currently serving as the Director of Political Strategy at Center for Health Progress, a Colorado-based community powerbuilding organization, and as the Board Chair of the Health Insurance Affordability Enterprise Board, I have been a leader on groundbreaking legislative initiatives that have had a tangible impact on healthcare outcomes in our community. One of my notable achievements was my work on Colorado Option where I successfully advocated for centering health equity in the legislation which led to Colorado creating the first-in-the-nation health insurance plan designed by community leaders with a focus on improving health equity. I have also championed several legislative efforts that have significantly expanded health insurance coverage, particularly for undocumented immigrants. Through the Health Insurance Affordability Enterprise Board, we have successfully extended health insurance coverage to Coloradans who were previously ineligible due to their immigration status. Cover All Coloradans, Center for Health Progress\'s first bill, has been pivotal in extending Medicaid/CHP+ coverage to undocumented pregnant individuals and children, ensuring access to vital healthcare services. I take great pride in my work to foster inclusive policy spaces and community-led decision-making. By establishing a steering committee for the Cover All Coloradans legislation, composed of directly impacted community members, we have set a new standard for policy advocacy in Colorado. This innovative approach has empowered community leaders and ensured that diverse perspectives are at the forefront of policy decisions, inspiring other organizations to adopt similar practices. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experiences through speaking engagements, trainings, and consulting. As an experienced speaker, I have had the privilege of contributing to events such as the State of Health Reform and CoverCO, where I have contributed to meaningful discussions on healthcare reform.
