About Ray Messer

After 21 years as President and CEO of Walter P Moore, as well as 16 years as Chairman of the Board, it is now time to hand the reins to the next generation. Effective January 1, 2015, I have taken on the role of Director of Design-Build and in April stepped down as Chairman. My career at Walter P Moore has been an incredible professional and personal journey, and I look forward to my next phase at Walter P Moore.I began my career at Walter P Moore in 1981 as the leader of our post-tensioned concrete design efforts. From there I was transferred to Tampa, FL and opened that office in 1984. Years later from Tampa, I opened the Atlanta office in 1989, and in 1993 after an in-depth strategic planning process, I became President and CEO. I have had the pleasure of working with a team of incredible professionals throughout Walter P Moore and will continue to do so as Director of Design-Build.A couple of attributes of Walter P Moore of which I am most proud are that we are creative and practical at the same time. We have much to offer to our industry partners whether it be traditional design, design-build or other non-traditional engineering services for construction. I look forward to continuing to serve our clients in my new role.
