Mr. Veal has more than 10 years of experience in valuing conservation easements—complex valuations which are closely scrutinized by the IRS and other government agencies, and which require a strong understanding of IRS regulations, property values and land trust entities. Mr. Veal is among a limited number of appraisers who have completed “Valuation of Conservation Easements,” a course led and sponsored by the IRS, the Appraisal Institute, the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA), and the Land Trust Alliance. Additionally, Mr. Veal is “Yellow Book Certified,” a certification that ensures his appraisals comply with government appraisal standards when required. He has testified as a real estate/conservation evaluations expert in U.S. Tax Court on multiple occasions and is frequently engaged to review easement reports prepared by other appraisers.Mr. Veal\'s golf course appraisal experience includes a large number of daily fee, semi private and private courses in California, Nevada, Florida, Georgia, Idaho and other states. He has also conducted feasibility studies for proposed golf courses as well as alternative use studies for closed golf courses.
