In my role, I play a key part in supporting the management of the civil engineering team, with a primary focus on delivering high-quality engineering services up to the tender stage of projects across various sectors, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with industry standards. I also take the lead in delivering transport, flood risk, drainage and environmental services to support planning applications, working closely with planners, architects, and environmental specialists to develop integrated solutions. By providing strategic insights to the project team, I help streamline project delivery, mitigate potential planning risks, and enhance design efficiency.I can undertake engineering appraisals to support viability assessments, land purchases or Local Plan representations for potential development land based on local and national design criteria. It\'s important to get the right professional advice at the concept design stage to ensure the opportunities and constraints are identified and accommodated in the masterplan. I prepare comprehensive Transport Assessments for varying sized residential, mixed-use and commercial developments. This involves thorough statistical analysis and modelling of predicted traffic volumes and movements within a study area using industry software to review junction capacity and operation; recommending suitable mitigation improvements, where required. I also assess the development proposals against local and national transport planning policies, assessing the sites\' location and layout to promote and provide for improved sustainable travel choices. I also prepare flood risk assessments; surface and foul water drainage strategies based on LLFA and SuDS guidance, as well as utility infrastructure assessments to support planning applications.
