About Ray Joe
As a Senior Lead Scientist at Sumitomo Pharma Oncology, I apply my 19 years of experience and Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology to design, execute, and analyze in vitro and in vivo experiments that support key IND decisions for oncology drug candidates. I have managed, directed, and mentored a team of scientists and interns to generate translational data, such as in vivo efficacy, PK/PD, MOA, and drug combination studies, in collaboration with cross-functional teams and CRO partners. I have a strong track record of developing and validating high-throughput assays for investigational test agents, identifying indications and therapeutic MOAs, and presenting results in peer-reviewed journals and at scientific conferences. I have secured over $1M in NIH research fellowship support for my previous projects in human genetics and metabolism. My mission is to leverage my expertise in translational biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology to advance the discovery and development of novel and effective oncology therapies.
