For 55 years, I followed the script - do what you\'re told, follow the rules, build a thriving career, climb ladders, check boxes. Raised 3 kids with 2 not quite done. Five grandchildren to keep track of. From the outside, I had it all. vacations, country club, money. Inside, I was running on autopilot, asking silent questions no one else seemed to be asking. Is this it? Why does success feel so empty? What if I’m meant for something more - not just more stuff, but more meaning? Walking away wasn’t easy. But it was necessary. I stopped chasing what wasn’t mine, and I discovered what was always waiting within me. Wear a tie, they said. Dress for success, they said. Shave every day, they said. Look the part you\'re supposed to be playing, they said. So I did. Until I realized I wasn\'t living my life; I was living theirs. And so I stopped. No more ties.
