About Ray Buffington

Ray Buffington is the Senior Director of Team Member Communications and Communication Technology at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). His team’s mission is to translate the impact of our products, technical leadership, customer momentum, and culture into compelling, innovative and inspiring communication experiences that build pride, clarity, and confidence among team members.Ray has more than 15 years of internal communication experience, specializing in employee experience and engagement, and change management. Since he joined HPE in 2016, he has counseled and led a number of global scale communication strategies in support of company-wide transformation for a range of initiatives, including culture and workplace experience. His passion lies in making complex topics accessible and human, using communication technology to improve reach, relevance and engagement, and helping leaders show up authentically during moments of change, growth and celebration. Ray also serves as the executive communications advisor to the Chief People Officer, and partners to shape, advance, and protect the CPO’s leadership platform, ensuring their voice, narrative, and presence are authentic, consistent and impactful across both internal and external audiences. Prior to joining HPE, Ray was a senior communications consultant at Mercer and advised companies of all sizes on strategic approaches to strengthen internal dialogue, foster engagement and drive meaningful behavior change. Ray graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington. He currently lives in the Dallas, Texas area with his husband.
