About Ray Boyle

I specialize in making novel connections across sectors, industries, and disciplines, acting as a translator, connector, and sense-maker in an era that too often fragments knowledge into silos. My work moves beyond the problem-solution paradigm, revealing deeper patterns that shape our reality and designing spaces where people can think, collaborate, and act in entirely new ways.I am invited into unusual conversations—from theoretical mathematicians mapping uncertainty to Indigenous land stewards restoring ecosystems, from AI ethicists grappling with planetary-scale computation to policymakers rethinking climate migration. I help people embrace complexity rather than resist it, illuminating unseen connections and applying living systems frameworks that foster coherence without reductionism. This results in collaborations that generate real-world action in policy, governance, land-use, and regenerative systems.Since 2015, I have led interdisciplinary workshops on participatory planning, urban innovation, sea level rise adaptation, regenerative agriculture, soil health, AI in climate adaptation, and rural economic revitalization. I have worked with over ten cities globally to reimagine governance and advance futures-thinking, while also facilitating cross-disciplinary dialogues that uncover novel insights.As the Inaugural Fellow at Regenesis Institute, I work with StopWaste and Indian Valley residents to explore the economic potential of regenerative wood-fiber materials. As Vice President of the Board at Build It Green, I help integrate human-made infrastructure with living systems to reshape urban development. Recently, I led a multinational workshop integrating AI into nonprofit climate solutions and continue advancing technology and ecological regeneration.Previously, I advised the Day One Project on integrating environmental regeneration into science and technology policy and led the City Experiment Fund at UNDP, designing a multinational program that de-risked innovation and fostered participatory urban transformations.Beyond systems regeneration, I run Refuge Design, an interior design studio focused on well-being, and coach entrepreneurs and small business owners, aligning their work with deeper systems of change. The future belongs to those who weave, connect, and create coherence out of complexity.
