About Ray Locker

An experienced editor, digital media leader and author specializing in stories that explain developments to readers, I assemble breaking news quickly on multiple platforms and package compelling messages. I\'m now a communications director and strategist for a foundation that operates a museum on the site of a Japanese American incarceration site during World War II. In that position, I led our successful efforts to become a Smithsonian Affiliate museum and finalist for the Institute for Museum and Library Services National Medal. My first book, Nixon\'s Gamble: How a President\'s Own Secret Government Destroyed His Administration, was published in 2015, and my second book, Haig\'s Coup, was released on May 1, 2019, by Potomac Books. Haig\'s Coup showed how President Nixon\'s chief of staff, Alexander Haig, sabotaged Nixon\'s attempts to defend himself during the Watergate scandal. I wrote a graphic novel with Secretary Norman Mineta and Senator Alan Simpson about their friendship that started behind the barbed wire at the Heart Mountain concentration camp during World War II. My fourth book, Heart Mountain Incarceration Site, was released in February 2025 by Arcadia Publishing.
