ABOUT RAY LISTER

Ray Lister is an urban planner and urban designer at Brook McIlroy who leads planning and urban design projects with public and private clients. His background in planning, urban design, and cultural heritage reinforces his desire to create places and policies that are inclusive, evolving, and contextually sensitive. His work in these fields has given him experience assessing the physical environment, observing planning and design problems, and providing recommendations foregrounding policy-based solutions. At Brook McIlroy, Ray has led complex, multi-year projects for many clients. These projects include the Vaughan Official Plan Review - Urban Design Review, the Loyalist College Campus Master Plan, the Columbus Urban Design Guidelines, and the Niagara Region Model Urban Design Guidelines update. He also produces urban design guidelines and urban design review services for municipalities, and urban design briefs, planning rationale reports, and assists in the creation of Ontario Land Tribunal witness statements for residential and mixed-use developments within the Greater Toronto Area. His work to date has contributed to his varied skillset in public engagement, policy analysis and creation, and visual communication.
