ABOUT RAWAN A.

As a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), I earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with three majors in Biology, Psychology, and Sociology, graduating magna cum laude on the pre-professional health track. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I completed rigorous coursework in Biochemistry, Development & Stem Cells, Human Biology, Physiology, Microbiology, Principles of Nutrition, and Neuroscience, among others, building a strong interdisciplinary foundation to pursue a future in healthcare. As a EMT, I provide both pre-hospital and in-hospital emergency care through my dual roles as an ER Technician in a hospital setting and an EMS provider in the field. My duties include IV insertion, oxygen administration, EKG acquisition, wound care, medication, and patient monitoring. I work closely with physicians, nurses, and paramedics to ensure timely, effective interventions in high-pressure situations. These roles have strengthened my clinical skills, enhanced my ability to think critically in fast-paced environments, and deepened my commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care across diverse settings. I am eager to apply my comprehensive academic background and hands-on clinical experience in a more advanced healthcare setting, leveraging my strong foundation in both theory and practice. I am looking to network and shadow providers and learn more about the field.
