Leading design and development activities of exhaust system (cold end) from concept finalization till SOP and developments post SOP for Renault and Nissan Vehicle, manufactured in Europe.• Prepare detailed timing-plan; work with Cross Functional Team and suppliers for smooth execution of the project within given timeline.• Define product specifications, prepare 3D layout and detailed 2D drawings by applying best techniques, procedures, Standards using CAD Tool UG-NX.• Interact frequently with customer, arrange Digital MockUp and design reviews.• Prepare technical documents such as product spec sheet, DFMEA, design validation & verification sheet, design change history for Design review.• Provide technical support to production department, quality and suppliers.• Actively participate in supplier visit & negotiations in both the commercial and technical aspects of products. Manage benchmarking/tear down events identify cost reduction opportunities for delivery. • Perform cost objective setting and cost breakups of new/existing parts based on drawings or physical parts, cost reduction proposals.• Identify cost reduction opportunities, develop detailed cost estimates for piece cost and vendor tooling from Design concepts, component drawings or samples, Supplier Quote Analysis (Quote vs. Estimated Budget)• Follow best practices such as “Genchi Genbutsu” and conduct Genba Reviews.
